What if science
is the slowest way
to uncover
what we already know
in our bones?
Like angels are beings
who sometimes drive old, worn-out minivans
instead of traditional wings—
which wouldn't match their shoes anyway.
And everything we eat
has an ancestor to venerate,
and children are the future
but we don't invest in them.
And money does us no good
when our heartbeat stops.
